Day 1 (May 21) A Day on the Road

So the morning started out with us starting out late. Morgan was elected to drive as it is her car. We were joined by Karen of the Aussie GPS, who during the trip often spoke to us in a tone that sounded both disappointed and disgusted. Apparently we did not live up to her expectations.

During the trip we decided to play the license plate game...which stops for nothing, not if you are on the phone, not if you are asleep, not if you are trying to figure out where the heck we are going.

We also played Mad Lib that was given to us by our friend Becky. We tried to keep it PC. During the one exercise we did run into some very good advice that all women (and some men if they like) should live by. "Stilettos may be used as Bibles during the Raptures." So for all you people out there that are now waiting for the next "Rapture" remember to where you Stilettos at all times.

During the drive our windshield was often the victim of bug kamikaze maneuvers...including one memorable suicide where the bug left body parts behind on the windshield. Which brought a girlish squeal from Morgan/Squeaky.

Finally we arrived in Charleston where we checked into our hotel La Quinta, which apparently has an orange/citrus theme. We are on a marina and we are next to a huge multi-level dry dock for boats which is fun to watch.

We went to dinner at California Dreaming and had a wait to be seated. We of course went to the bar to wait, however, we were told after sitting there for a half hour that we were seated at a table where they were serving food. Oddly enough we were not given silverware or menus at this table. We did end up having some extremely good food and our waiter entertained our shenanigans. We began our ploy to get free food of some sort by sharing the fact that we are on our turning 30 trip and that my birthday is only 10 days away. Unfortunately this was not successful at this time...but we are hopeful for the future.

Lastly we started the bets on who would burp the most. It is a challenge between me and Lis. People please place your bets we will inform you of the outcome later.

  2. Haha I'm so glad you guys are enjoying the Mad Libs! They are always good for a nice chuckle. Sounds like you guys are having fun! Tough decision on the burp contest...I'm sure no matter who wins it will be a very close match.
